An alternative video happening, aspiring to operate in Jerusalem's center of town as a cultural experience by screening works of video art. A meeting place for artists from Israel, Arab countries and around the globe.
The event is aimed at promoting open-mindedness and cultural growth of the city.
We believe in art's ability to be a language, creating an environment for dialogue and common ground.
The event creates a new exhibition platform of contemporary art integrating street galleries with city life. The video art festival will take place simultaneously in different locations in the city's center for 12 days. The event invites the public to participate in this "undercover" experience of urban wandering. The wanderer will manage around the outskirts of the city center with the aid of sign posts, leading to the various screening points that create connection between them. Creating a visual event, dismantled and assembled, revealed and hidden, exposed through movement in time and space.

Rujum festival was launched by two students at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Jerusalem, and grew to include local artists and students, supported by the academy.
We would like to take art out of the galleries and turn Jerusalem's city center into a big venue, screening art at the street scenery and other public/underground locations.
